Job Description
Direct, develop, implement and manage JB Hollands' safety, health and environmental (SHE) compliance programs, policies, and procedures. Verify compliance with S.H.E regulations and ensure all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Ensures projects are completed safely, on time and within budget. Act as an advisor to management assessing safety, health and environmental regulatory compliance of projects, tasks, and operations. Represent, implement and enforce the policies and procedures established by JB Holland management and perform additional tasks as may be assigned.
Reports to: CEO
Ensure Compliance with all S.H.E. standards promulgated by local, state and federal agencies
Ensure all environmental permits are obtained, current, adequate and properly implemented
Perform routine compliance checks, document, and report as required by the regulatory agency
Coordinate and perform regulated drug testing
Coordinate and train all levels of employees for compliance with all JB Holland's S.H.E. programs.
Participate in new hire orientation, drug testing and fit analysis
Maintain databases for compliance for S.H.E. regulations
Manage and participate in any OSHA, MSHA, DOT, DNR, EPA inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents.
Understand tracking valid metrics & knowledge with lagging and leading indicators
Investigate all injuries, accidents, violations regarding S.H.E. standards and prepare reports documenting the situation, determining root causes, and make recommendations for improving JB Holland's policies and procedures.
Develop and implement tools to incentivize outcome of desired policies and procedures
Valid driver's license
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer skills
Knowledge and or certification at a minimum of all of the following
OSHA - current 30hr training
MSHA - current certified minor
Competent person - current certified
Confined space- current certified
DOT traffic Control Tech - current certified
DOT Flagger - current certified
DOT commercial carrier - current knowledge of regulations
Drug testing (substance abuse) - awareness training and certified collector
EEO - general knowledge
SWPPP - DOT certified Erosion control supervisor.
SPCC - training and knowledge.
Responsibilities:
1. Educating/Training employees
2. Monitoring employee compliance of policies
3. Monitoring JB Holland's compliance with laws and regulations
4. Maintain records regarding compliance
5. Investigate and record any accidents, injuries, near misses, and or compliance issues
6. Communicates S.H.E concerns with supervisory people and upper management.
